Pets

The week we spent learning about how to care for pets was a busy one! Students spent time in the dramatic play area, which was transformed into a vet's office. During centers, they worked on matching dogs to their dog house, dotting the Dalmatian and filling bowls with they correct amount of play dough dog food. They even played pet charades!

Vince, Our Adopted Seminarian

On Friday, we emailed our adopted seminarian Vince Fernandez, who is currently studying in Rome. I attended Bishop Kelley with Vince, and was so excited to tell the class about him! We discussed what a seminarian is and how we can help him on his journey to the priesthood, by praying for him. Several students said they wanted to become priests someday! Please join us in praying for Vince throughout the year.

Numbers and Colors

This week we are getting better at recognizing numbers and colors as we work on our fine motor skills. We are trying to build up our finger muscles so we can hold our crayons the right way.

Outside Play

Each morning and afternoon we go play outside, weather permitting. While we are out there our students are doing so much more than playing!
 They are:
- Exercising
- Using their imaginations
- Problem solving
- Improving gross and motor skills
- Discovering new things
- Building relationships

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

This week we read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Our students had a letter hunt, put letters on the Chicka tree, and made their own Chicka Chicka Boom Boom hats. We even got to feel the outside and hear the milk inside a real coconut. We also tasted coconut, but we weren't big fans of it!

Our First Day!

We had a great time on our first day! We are spending the first couple days getting to know our classmates, classroom, playground, and school. I can't wait for our students to explore more and make wonderful memories!
